The Intel Linux version of plusFORT Version 6.50 toolkit is FREE for educational, academic and commercial evaluation use only. There are no time or size restrictions, and all of the restructuring and static analysis capabilities of the standard version are available. It can handle ANSI Fortran 77, and most common extensions, including all of VAX Fortran (with the exception of the PDP style octal constants using ").

Unlike the Standard version, it is not intended to process Fortran 90/95 source code, or to translate Fortran 77 to Fortran 90/95.

The following features are not available in this free download:

  • Coverage Analysis

  • Dynamic Analysis

  • Clutter Removal

  • F77 <-> F90 source form translation

  • F77 <-> F90 declaration translation

  • (but declaration insertion, to allow use of IMPLICIT NONE, is there)

  • Variable Renaming

  • Complexity Metric

  • SQL and ICETRAN parsers

An HTML version of the full manual may be found in the manual sub-directory.

Linx / UNIX Installation instructions:

Create the directory that will be used to hold the plusFORT programs and make it the current directory.  Copy the downloaded file into this directory, and unpack the contents

       e.g. tar xvf linux.tgz

For convenience, we suggest that you add the plusFORT installation directory to your search path, so that the programs can be invoked from anywhere on the system simply by typing their names.

Set up an environment variable called PFDIR containing the name of the installation directory.  If you are using the C shell, the required command is of the form:

               setenv PFDIR  /usr/pf

Other variants are:

                PFDIR=/usr/pf

                export PFDIR

and

                export PFDIR=/usr/pf

Please let us know (support@polyhedron.com) how you get on. No warranty or support is available with this free version of plusFORT, but we aim always to be responsive to constructive user feedback.

If you would like to use plusFORT on a different platform (most DOS/Windows, Unix and VMS systems are supported), or to use it in a
commercial or non-academic setting, or use any of the above unsupported features, you'll need to purchase a licence. Please visit
http://www.polyhedron.com, or email email Polyhedron for prices and further information.
